Lensbaby Project {March}

It's my favorite time of every month, the Clickinmoms lensbaby blog circle!  This month the group did not have a theme, which was great for me. I could not focus this month on any particular idea. I tried flowers, a singular color, macro rings, my pin hole glass accessory.  No single session worked out well enough for a complete blog post.  Some were epic failures.  In the end I managed a few presentable images.

I told my husband I should call it my artistic portfolio because I am posting all my moody emotions through photography.
He said I can call it my political portfolio because my previous statement is an extreme stretch of the truth.

Oh well, enjoy the art!

Moody Flowers

Moody Weather

Lastly a very short slide show (0:17) of a random walk through the woods with my lensbaby.  It's not moody.

I hoped you enjoyed the artistic assortment of photos this month.  Please continue through our circle and check out the ultra talented Philadelphia Photographer, Lucy Baber Photography

Sad Flowers

There is a long running joke that if I ever attempted fine art the result would only be shots of "sad leaves."  I recently had a personal health issue/tragedy.  The details of the event are not important, but know that it was unexpected and caused some concerns.  In the aftermath I have been sent a few bouquets of flowers to help cheer me up while I recuperate.  While I am stuck in my Florida dwelling on bedrest, I can't help but want to photograph their beauty.  I am sharing the results because my husband had to point out they look like "sad flowers." I didn't know such a flower existed, but I did chuckle at the thought. My first attempt at artistic flora turned out moody and sad. Perhaps it is just a reflection of my mood this week. Hopefully it is not a sign of all artistic photos to come.

Strawberry Festival

This week brought the opening of the 2013 Florida Strawberry Festival.  I am convinced Florida is one of the few, if not only, states that has a festival larger than a state fair devoted to a fruit. The Florida Strawberry Festival might bring the biggest 90s and 00s Country names to a "fair" type setting than any other venue in the nation. This year's entertainment schedule features Alan Jackson, Dwight Yoakam, Martina McBride, and Trace Adkins.  While I did not attend one of these concerts, I did check out the fair during one of it's less busy times.  The Strawberry Festival offers your classic fair rides, midway games, and 4H exhibitions. I tried to document the experiment solely through my Lenbsbaby. Here's hoping the feeling of the festival comes through in the photos.

Lensbaby Project {February}

I can't believe how quickly February came and went. It is already the end of the month and time for the monthly clickin moms Lensbaby post. This month our group theme was love.  I am going to stretch the theme (a lot) to showcase how we remember a loved one.

Early in the month my husband lost his grandfather very suddenly. We traveled from Florida to Michigan for the funeral.  During our time in The Mitten we met with his family and took a few moments to celebrate his grandfather and pay tribute to him the best way we could. We started a campfire, smoked some cigars (some of us), drank a little Black Velvet (some of us), and took in the calming silence of snow falling on the Muskegon River.

Make sure you also check out the next blogger in our circle, the talented Monika Strzelecka.

Family Fun Time

A rare circumstance took me back up the The Mitten at the beginning of February. The reason why will be in tomorrow's post.  In only a week's time it felt like my little niece and nephew grew noticeably older than they were a week before.  As an obsessed aunt I took advantage of the situation and took an obnoxious amount of lifestyle photos.
